Im moving to Houston in 2 weeks. Just wondering how the area is. What are the laws like in Texas pertaining to modified cars? Anyone know a place to get my car inspected that is less than strict?

The law is very nice to us. They generally do not give a shit about loud exhausts and things like that. 2 of my 3 cars don't have a cat and one runs a straight open downpipe

no it wont pass. the inspections arent that tought though.
but you wont get a ticket. i live in dallas / ft.worth like 8 hrs away form houston i think but yea cops dont care. the way they figure if you passed inspection then its legal. just when you get there get involved in the racing scene and youll find someone to write it off for ya. thats what i do. give my friend 50 bucks and he gives me the sticker

Wow! I must have missed this somehow. I live in The Woodlands but I am all over the place. I know people all over Houston on every side. I generally stay up north though. Spring, Woodlands, Lake Conroe, Huntsville...i'm usually somewhere around that whole area. Go out west alot to cuz my good friend lives in Cypress off of 290.

Im moving to Richmond. Is that far from where you are? So as long as I have a full exhaust it will pass? Even if it is 3" o2 back? Do you think any of the inspectors will give a shit about my o2 dump?

As long as you don't have any CEL's. I've never had a problem getting inspected and I don't even have a cat. They don't even look underneath. If there is no check engine light and it passes emissions then they really don't care. The o2 dump could cause a problem if they notice. Richmond isn't very close to where I am.

They check emissions there? I dont know if my car will pass that. They dont check emissions in VA. I dont have a cat either.

Umm no, any exhaust that is not OEM is illegal in Va.
