Retrofit in these lights or buy new bulbs?

Fat guy in a little coat.
I have seen a G2 with OEM 1 pieces retrofitted and the HIDs worked well. Still had the clean line. He took the time to sand the inside of the lens smooth at the headlight area so the light output wasn't scattered or diffused. I'm sure it took some time and some don't like the look of the smooth lens at the headlight and still fluted at the fogs and turn signals. IMPO, best headlights for a G2 are a clean set of OEM 1 pieces and Raybrig high output bulbs.
I was going to suggest grinding down the flutes, but I wasnt sure with it bieng glass, and the front light. There a youtube vid of a guy that did his rear lights all led, and he grinded the inside of the lens. Looked really, really nice. But those where backlights.

There is a guy at G2IC that posted this up in his build thread & yes it came out pretty good looking.

The OEM one pieces are plastic not glass.

I've already mentioned those options.

At the end of the day he obviously doesn't consider the aftermarket lights that ricer or he wouldn't have considered them at all.

Exactly, but I would love to keep my car looking clean and OEM. It'll be damn near impossible for me to sand down the glass flutes on the OEM lenses though and I'm not spending $400 for JDM 1pcs.

Plus I risk breaking the $400 jdm lights attempting to sand down the flutes.

My headlights suck. I can see for ish at night. Was thinking about doing a retro in these lights:

But I like the OEM
discount hid kits. Made of glass so no oxidation after 21 years. Would it be better to do a retrofit or buy better dual filament bulbs? I'm also not one of those people looking to blind oncoming traffic so
Same problem happened with my headlights I replaced them with new HID ones. New lights are bright but I am afraid they my be illegal.. Hope you made right choice of lights:roll::roll:

Haven't done anything with the lights yet. I really wanna do the retro, but I just can't see myself losing the stock look or spending $800 on JDM 1 pcs. and a retrofit kit.
