Soooo i have been elected by a friend of my to dump about 20k-30k into his 2012 Civic Si.... I have been stumbling over this in my head for the last two weeks and we are finally gonna start ordering some parts, Full Race turbo kit, Volk TE37 SE 17x8.5 with a 40 offset and TEIN Suspension.. wondering if anyone wanted to feed me some input and help a brother out!

No work done yet, completely stock with 12,000 miles

Thanx

This probably fits better in the lounge...not really a 3rd gen topic.

As far as work goes, what does your friend want to do with the car. Is this a track car, strip car, weekend car, DD? What are his power goals? What TEIN products are you looking to get? Should be top of the line for that budget. Also don't forget to beef up the brakes too. 20k-30k is a ton of money, you could make a serious car with that kind of doe. Do something crazy with it, like a supercharger and turbocharger.

Well i plan i lowering the compression with a new head gasket, hoping to produce around 450-500 and the wheels, we are looking to make it a beast of a weekend car, Fucntional but will pretty much Dog most people. Absolutely am not skimping out on Quality when it comes to parts... I got a guy who owns a shop giving me a heads up on quality and authenticity of parts.. I have my DOHCtor (certified master tech) helping with the installs....

so you are gonna put 20-30 grand in a civic only to make 450hp?
I would imagine with that kind of a budget you would make waaaaaaay more powa!

I wouldn't call it stupid per say however you can make an extremely larger amount of power with $20,000. Don't those civics have K series in them? 20-30k should put you almost if not in the 8-900HP maybe even 1000hp range. Am I wrong?

actually its 20-30k to make a fully done car just because i only want 500whp doesnt mean shit, does a car only come with an engine and wheels????? hmmm i think there might be an interior which seats are 2k by themselves so i would appreciate you being quiet if you dont know what your talking about :)

Ok smart guy I'm sure I probably know more than you do . You didn't state the OP that you were spending that money on the entire car. You simply stated that you were "dumping" 20-30k into this car and you named some wheels and a suspension brand. I happen to know what Im talking about and if you think that being a d**k to someone asking a simple question will get you help you are dead wrong sir . Good luck with your $20,000 terd :thumbs up

Where the hell is OG when you need him...

Well I can definitely tell you that you won't get much help here as far as the K is concerned seeing how 95% of the people on here have Bs. I would suggest joining the our civic counterpart club civic for this info. I also suggest upgrading the internals (eagles rods and CP pistons) and sleeving it. Are you planning on balancing and blue printing the motor as well?
