Yes, it matters who's money it is, kids that use their parents money to modify their car don't appreciate the cost of building a car and a well built car. I think he is doing it to look cool, anyone can dump a shit ton of money into a car to make it look good or go fast, people that build cars because they are passionate about it don't give someone 20-30k (a person, not a professional shop) and have them make their car go fast. I go to my local meets to talk to people that are passionate about working on their cars and people that can appreciate the work that goes into building a car, not people that want to have their car modded because they think it's cool. They are the kind of people that end up street racing everything with wheels. And yes, I think he wants to impress people, no reason to dump that kind of money into a 2012 Civic, if he truly wanted a car to go fast he probably would've picked an EG or EF Civic. I don't work on my cars to impress other people, I do it because I enjoy it. I enjoy watching my hard work turn into a good looking car because it's what I like and what feeds my passion.
