The Honda Motor Company has lost it's way

I read the link for the hr412e.

Is thermal efficency the same as gas saving? Developer says even if they are producing race engines, fuel efficency is huge considrration.

Fuel saving=no fun, imo.

So...KERS is stupid, because that is "fuel saving hybrid technology" Being more efficient with the motor means you get more power for less. Remember these cars are built for a class. the big boy version of that motor will be Honda's V6 F1 motor.

Being someone who buys new cars I appreciate all the developments that goes into them.

There will always be a compromise, weight gets added not only for creature comforts but also safety. I'm glad my new Mazda has 12 airbags. Does it add weight, sure but I'm willing to deal with the loss of mpg.

If they made a car that got 50mpg but took 12s to get to 60mph people wouldn't buy it.

But these cars also handle just as well on the skid pad and are way faster then cars from 20 year ago.

I don't understand what the complaints are, at least not from a dynamic view.

Every company takes a break, once in a while. Honda hasn't made a consumer "sports" car for how low long before the S2000?

They made civics and accords and the integra. The new civics and accords are faster then the old ones and the new tsx will smoke any integra so again what is the problem?

The problem is we cant afford them n were haters :(
I think Honda pulling out of F1 was the biggest problem, motorsport and the production cars go hand in hand. Who was one of the test drivers for the NSX? Ayerton Senna. Where did the Integra type R come from? the NSX.

Based on a conversation I had with someone that drives for Honda, they have scaled back their participation in lower levels of racing, but they are still very much a competitor in many series around the globe

No fucks given.
Still in IRL, but not much. Chevy's starting to hand them their ass with the motor they're using.

I dont know that the acronym KERS stands for. But I do know id rather have brz than crz. Too much computersand hybrid technolgy, I would be hesitant to work or modify it. That wouldnt be so fun.

I do like more power for less gas. Thats awesome, I think its that balance between the two, shrouded in hybrid technology, that is the issue.

I think...

Both the brz and crz are completely different cars. Brz is more able, but still not a great choice when in the market for a new car.

No. Because of Toyota, we have an idea of hybrid technology for gas saving. KERS (kinetic energy recovery system) is used by Formula 1, Porsche, McLaren, Honda and probably a lot of others that Greg can name and Matt too. But your energy from braking is stored in a battery and you press a button and it gives you ~80hp boost. That is what hybrid technology is supposed to be. The BS toyota stuff was only a bandaid for a bigger issue.

So yes, s*** happened when they fell out of F1. But they are on the come back and good things are to come. When Honda was in F1 what did we have? NSX, Type R, S2000
They were just an engine supplier for all of those teams. When Honda actually built both chassis and engine they failed miserably.

Honda might want to partner with a non-McLaren entity, the MP4-28 is GAWBAGE

You talk about the BRZ like it's a great car.
BRZ is great doe.

I remember seeing all the diagrams when KERS first came out. The brake rotors would turn colors and the arrow go back to whereever.

Its not my fault the prius is lame and boring, thats what I think when I think hybrid. Leaf is what I think of all electric. They are good for my wife, but I need something to drive and tweak. The learning, working on, and evaluating is more than half the fun for me.
