..it's a van. I don't think anybody buying the van is too concerned about performance or weight. It's not that bad of an idea either. Imagine that thing full of kids on a road trip and they spill cereal or something all over the car. It's an easier way to keep it clean & another creature comfort. I can see others mimicking this as well.
Hell, I'd even love one in my dc2. My interior gets dirty so fast & I don't have my own garage with a power outlet. This would be a nice convenience.
i agree but i think hes trying to say he wishes they would focus more on the sporty/tuner market instead. in MY OWN opinion (keep in mind this is MY opinion not quoting anyone but just speaking my mind). the economy sucks right now, people are having kids younger and the population is always growing. they seem to be focused strictly on bigger cars. take a look at the si for example. they finally made a sedan in 07 and are continuing to do so. Also I work at honda in the marysville auto plant in ohio and everyday they make sedans almost all day everyday. we go by "lots" which is 60 cars, so we do about 8 lots worth a shift so 480 cars and they usually do one or two lots in a day maybe two times a week at most so like 120-240 cars a shift, a week that are coupes and the rest are all 4 doors.
so basically what im saying is honda seems to be focusing on a few key points
-fuel economy
-space in cabin
-keeping cost down
-beating the competition
they arent worried about the sporty/tuner market because they want to work on getting optimal fuel economy and space for say an american family with 2-3 kids that is affordable while the sporty cars that they actually are working on seem to be focused on creating more space in the design...just my 2 cents. yeah i know. that 2 cents went a long way. oh well
