Bring sunscreen, tire pressure gauge, tire pump, gloves, helmet, license, water, tools, a tote to hold everything, a cool hat like Raiden in Mortal Kombat, comfy driving shoes, make sure your battery tie-down is tight, and a pair of balls.
Play with tire pressures to see where you're at, remove your spare tire and other useless shit in the rear and put about 3-5 more pressure in the rear tires than the front to help oversteer a bit. Check the contact patch on the tires after you run along with your pressures to see your best pressure setup. If your front end is sliding, possibly not enough air pressure so your sidewall is rolling over and washing out the front.
Videos are really helpful to review between runs, if you have time; it really helps you figure out where you can, or have pushed it harder through a turn
Good luck, I went last weekend.
