On the way to Berkeley for the meet, I bottomed three times on the freeway. So does this have to do with s***ty quality control? Either way, not my favorite thing to worry about when driving down the f***ing road
you also dont drive like people do with lowered cars. you drive straight through bumps on the freeway, the road you usually only slow down for a drive way. Thats why you bottom out. Skunk2 posted two bulletins about their RnD and quality control. And, if you still have questions you can go to their open house.

Nigga, I'm like Mayweather; bobbin' and weavin' - float like a butterfly, sting like when I pee. I can't swerve three lanes on the freeway, lol

if its the dips going to 80, yes i bottom out there. I bottom out going to the bay in a stock height car. i bottom out in my integra. its fucking i-80...its not skunk2 its Cal Trans not doing a good job on that section. Imagine how bad it would have been like 2 years ago when the roads were super bad.

Here's just some of the many problems I have seen that actually have been reported, and this is just on one forum I frequent... And skunk2 claims they don't have issues with their products.

There is no way a company can have zero error. That is impossible. Statistically and definitely in reality. Even 6Sigma companies have error. Reduced by a lot but still present. There's no way to know that half of the failed parts in those posts weren't Skunk2 replicas or how much damage could be chalked up to human error on installation. If you don't like the stuff, chances are you didn't like it beforehand. And that's fine, but posts like that are ignorant. I could probably Google search any brand and come up with failures... you see how misleading that can be?

Are there more than the average company? Yeah probably, but I have noticed that there are a larger than average amount of people using that companies products as well.

Lets say that 2 companies have their cams made in the same Taiwanese factory. Now let's say that that factory has a margin for error of 1%, and Company 1 sells 100 cams and Company 2 sells 50, Company 1 is going to sell 2 times as many defective cams without their quality control being any less stringent. Will they focus on quality control more now, heck yeah. I would gauge that Skunk2 is going to have less failure in the future as a result of this whole debacle. They probably will take a hard look at their manufacturing processes so they don't come under the gun again.

Additionally, I don't think that that many people have been as turned off by S2 as you think. Most of the people that say they won't buy probably weren't people to buy in the first place, people that already have and have had a good experience with the products will probably shrug it off, others will thrive on the new hater-factor associated with them.

I've never owned a Skunk2 product, I just remember seeing them in magazines when I got my first Honda about 10 years ago. Would this stop me from buying in the future? No, probably not. But I wasn't planning on purchasing anything anyway.

I have followed way too many threads this week with 1 fricking naysayer (no one on this forum thank God) that kept flaming on people because his opinion was king. But I've seen a lot of reasonable people sucked in by those people, and that's the saddest part. I take advice from you people, how am I suppose to trust a flock of sheeple when I have a real question? I'm likely to just get a regurgitated answer from a hater or a fanboy...

well their parts may make good numbers etc. but if you read through all of the drama, there's a lot more to it than meets the eye. But when people are clearly having problems with their k series cams, and other parts, the first thing they jump to is blaming it on the installation, sense they have no control over how someone installs it (correctly or incorrectly), they use that as an easy way out. But people are having shops do the install that have been around longer than skunk2, and have built probably 100's of honda engines, yet they blame it on the install. And them blaming product failure on install is just one of the many problems with that company

But when people are clearly having problems with their k series cams
I read that thread in entirety. And I agree with that statement as well as with chunky, the OP. He had problems with 3 of the exact same cam that S2 kept replacing for him. And multiple other people did as well. There was a problem present, one that it seemed from Skunk2's responses (which were cryptic and confusing at best) was being worked on. And even though Chunky had problems before, he didn't view Skunk2 negatively, probably because HE WAS CONTACTING THE COMPANY ABOUT IT. They were sending him replacements and obviously he was in contact with them before that thread started. Most other people just have a problem and start the flaming.

The problem with that thread is the moronic input from half a dozen thread-jackers that turned a "does anyone have suggestions on this problem" thread into a "Skunk2 is Junk2, I have a friend of a friend who's also had problems, Junk2 can kiss my ass" thread.

SignalPuke started by saying he had a similar problem, then just started flaming, a couple others didn't even admit to having experienced any such problem just lit it up like a Christmas tree. I mean, the NSX forum thought signalpuke was an idiot, but for some reason none of the other forums came to that conclusion.

I don't condone Skunk2's bounty idea, but at the same time, people need to realize that the internet isn't really that anonymous. You can't just spew whatever you want and get away scott-free. There's people that are infinity good at tracking down information... I've seen 4Chan do it a few times.

Very few of us are this ballsy in person. I'm a person that is generally nervous about posting because there's a chance I could find myself face to face with you at a meet someday. I'm not an asshole, and I really doubt most of the douches on H-T that have weighed in on this issue are either, they are just enjoying the drama of it all, want to be included, but know that any kind of supportive comment will lose them some of their street cred.

I make unpopular decisions all the time, I like to have my forum's support on stuff, but if I don't it's not the end of the world. It doesn't hurt you if I buy junk parts, it doesn't hurt me to watch you spend $4000 on a suspension setup. I never will, but I will genuinely think your setup is cool and hope that I get a chance to ride in it someday. I won't make you ride in my car if it offends you or you feel my cheap parts constitute an unnecessary risk to your well being.
