thats a pretty reputable shop but id still check everything along with their recommendations for replacement parts.. compression test etc. Or leak down cuz i dont know if u can do a compression test with the motor out. haha

So all the ideas I had to help me get my car back on the road have failed me. =( Sadly I do not have the money to fix it and I really need transportation to get around. So I was told by someone very close to me to check and see if I could sell the car. As much as I don't want to it may end up being an option.

That sucks. Dont give up though. You should be able to buy ls blocks for cheap and just keep saving. Worst case scenario buy a single cam for now but i dont imagine a b18 being much more.

So my poor da has been down for two weeks now, and while I haven't posted any updates THE day after I got it home I started disassembling the motor. For all of you followers this may not be very exciting but it gives you an idea of where I'm at and how my car is doing. =)

This is what I was starting with complete, but unable to get a really good look at the damage.

When I removed the intake I saw this inside and in the throttle body, eww!

Intake removed, battery removed, radiator removed, and strut bar removed, not a bad start!

More pictures to come.

tearing it down is the longest process. when you put it back in the excitement mixed with already knowing what came from where make things go a lot faster! and you may end up with a few spare bolts that dont seem to go anywhere, but its a honda. they stick bolts EVERYWHERE and you usuallly be fine lol get that teg back on the road!

I did some more work on it yesterday, didn't do a whole bunch but I removed most of the powersteering. Made a huge mess while I was at it, lol. So when was pulling the starter, distributor, and cable for my clutch i cleaned off the serial number on my transmission does anyone know if this is good are bad?

Also when I removed the header (its really heavy!) I found this. =(

I know that feel. My car's been down since November and I'm currently driving around my gf's mom's Saturn.

I know right, but until I get more money it will have to sit. I'm actually looking for a second job right now so hopefully I can get something. I'm going to go out and wash it today since it's getting a thin layer of dirty on it.
