I love when that happens!!!!!!!.... not really. I have to drive an hour to school and it sucks when the 1st class teacher doesn't show up cause i could have slept in an extra hour...

Most people mod their cars to seperate themselves from the norm. They want to stand out and be recognized for themselves. This translates through their car and how they build it and what modifications they chose. Their personality defines their car and vice versa. Each has their own style although many times we borrow styles from others and make our own!

Some modify their cars because they want to go faster, look different, or simply be unique. Whatever it is those who do modify their cars take pride in what they do. Building a car can take alot of time depending on what your doing to the car; engine, exterior, interior, etc. For me I know it's been an ongoing build since 2002. And I think many agree that it really never ends. There is no finish with modifing your car. Its an endless passion that has gained more and more appreciation through the years. Those who are truly passionate about their cars will say that its an ongoing hobby and really never has an end!

It's not about the money to the people who are truly passionate about it. They will waste their paychecks week after week without second guessing. It's an ubelievable passion and sense of thrill and excitement when people you've never met come up to you and are amazed by what you have accomplished. It's about pride, heart, and indiviuality. No one persons car is the same, though some may have a few parts from the same company, each person stands out from another.

There is a tremendous amount of skill and respect in the scene. And those who are passionate admire and look up to those who exert those qualities. It's not about being bigger, faster, or better. Rather its about accomplishing ones own satisfaction with their car and their style which ever they end up taking.

I hope this helps you with your report and I hope you understand a bit more of why people modify their cars!
100% agree... A hobby, something to be proud, and a symbol of being an indivdual...

couldnt ahve said it any better, your car is representation of you, it symbolizes you and what you want to accomplish with the car, whether its racing or having something to show off to the world, modifying your own makes it look like what you want and not what someone else is looking for, granted that few might have the same paint as yours and what not but in the lonbg run its your car

i do it for the simple reason that i like to be 100% comfortable in my car. from looking the way i want it to, to driving and riding the way i want it to. not a pride issue, not a #1 issue. just what i want out of it.

haha i think i wrote an essay about this topic once. my pov. on modifying is having something to be proud of. like creating something new, better than when it came off the assembly line. most of the work was done by me and some buddies and it's just a good feeling after the new part's install is complete. plus, the car wont run off with my money like a girlfriend can =).

New and fresh.
Although I hate spending so much money on her... it's just personal accomplishment. When adding things to the car, it makes ME happy for some reason. Not sure why I buy half the things I buy for it, but I just think they are either...
1. needed
2. too damn cool to not buy
3. well made, makes my car better
4. a good deal i can't pass on
5. just again, too cool.

not sure why I bought half the things I did for her....... but I am pretty sure I do like my car better when modded

I modify my car to make it more fun to drive. not to look cool, not to be faster than anyone else, but so its fun to drive
