They look great, get good mileage, they're Japanese so you know they're reliable, the Teg in particular had massive support in the aftermarket parts industry - so easy to mod, and it was cheaper to insure than a mid 90's Prelude (my other desired car at the time, heh).
Mine was a very recent trade in at a Chevy dealership, they hadn't even recon'd it yet, so I got a sweet price on it. It was the first Teg I'd ever even sat in, I just went there to look at it and see one up close, but wound up buying it. $8,800 bucks in July 2000, paid it off a couple months later when I private sold my 1990 Celica GT (with a set of 15's) for $5,500 to a kid from Mass, Chevy was gonna give me less than half that as a trade in.
