Hello all! Today's topic is this: Why did you choose and Integra? What do you want out of it?

I will start...

I have a 93 Civic that I built as a track and autocross car. I daily drive a 03 F150 supercrew and need a better gas mileage daily driver. I picked up my Integra from a co worker for 700.00 and I am building it to be a clean reliable daily driver.

Uniqueness defines
Y did i get an integra? I always liked the bug eyes, not many other cars have that style, its unique, and 'speaks louder' when combined with a retro. Also got it cuz it was cheap and easy fix and had some maintence goodies.

My grandma had a 88 legend. We were on a road trip and she went to pass a truck saw another coming our way gave it a little gas I looked over we were doing 120 :) needless to say I've loved Acura sense. I'd still have it if it wasn't for the Honda ghost oil leak. First car I had was a teg. First car I went over 100 was a teg. First car I got laid in was a teg lol I'm always going to have one

The other asshole
Someone I knew knew someone who worked at a title loans company and randomly asked me if I wanted an Integra to flip for some cash, Went and checked it out saw it had full greddy exhaust and saw the gs-r badge and decided for $388 what have I got to lose.

I started my driving "career" with a 1999 Ford Taurus.

For my second car, I knew I wanted something I could mod a little bit and make look good. That naturally drove me towards Honda. At this point, I really didn't know anything about cars and working on them and honestly, before I clicked on the ad on craigslist for my Integra..I had never heard of an "Acura Integra" before. With that said, It's kind of crazy realizing how much I have learned about Integras, and cars in general over the past year and a half, considering I didn't even knew the Integra existed until I looked at the one I have now..

To answer the question "Why did I choose an Integra?" I really have no idea. It just fell into my lap.

I was in to civics and was a total car noob. One of my friends drove an integra ls with a b16 swap. At first I hated how it looked but over the course of a year it grew on me. In fact I was actually gonna get a civic hatch instead of my first teg. Skip to a year later. I'm looking for my first car, I need reliable and fuel efficient. My dad has ways owner Hondas and Toyotas so naturally a teg was on the list. I knew I wasn't gonna settle for an Ls. I wanted VTEC and the peppier engine im general. After driving the company car around (01 civic lx) for 6 months a gsr popped up on craigslist. Beat up, but ran and 2000$. Next day I picked it up.

That was my first teg. My friend with a n rigged ls is what got me into them lol.

A year after getting my gsr I found an ITR but we all know that story already.

Honestly, because it was $600 and came with tons of extras. I just had to make it run. I love doing that stuff. Always been a hot rod guy, liked DCs tho, didn't really know much about the DA as I wasn't really a Honda fan. Until the day I pulled up to my coworkers house to pick up the db2. Instantly fell in love. 3 years later and here we are, I'd say she's come a long way. Still got a long way to go too.

It looks sexy.
Its reliable.
Its reasonably quick.
Its a great platform to build on.
Lots of aftermarket products and support.
Good mileage.
Not too expensive.
Full SRS and ABS.
Cheap and easy to fix.
Because racecar.

But seriously, I really love my car. The interior is pretty modern seeing as how its 17 years old. I always get compliments on it.

Always thought they were figgin' awesome. Main reason was because when I was little, I knew a guy that had a db8 and I then wanted an Integra. So last December bought my dc2 for a not too shabby price. And I'm 16 :D

Because it was cheap. I had all 3 of mine at the same time for a little bit.

My first one was a GS, and despite the horrible excuse for an automatic transmission I really enjoyed that car. I paid $1100 for it, w/ 150k miles. A few months after I bought it, the stock exhaust basically fell off so I got an Ebay exhaust. The hood latch decided to stop working so I took it out and put on some hood pins. I got a cold air intake. Found some 17" wheels with tires for $100. I ended up selling the wheels for $110 after using them for a while. Sold the car 2.5 years later for $1000 w/175k miles.

Second one was a beautiful LS I got for $3800 w/ 92k miles. Perfect paint, no rust, stock engine, no accidents, OEM optional lip and sides. It was one of the cleanest ones I've seen. 5 days later some old lady in the center (left turn) lane decided she needed to go to the bank and made a right turn (from the center lane) across 2 lanes without looking. I couldn't react in time to prevent a collision and T-boned her @ 40mph. After another $1000 in parts and months of trying to save it, I had to let it go, it had some pretty serious frame damage and was gonna be too much to fix.

Third one was a fairly clean GS-R shell I got for $1900 (I overpaid but it was the only option). The engine and transmission from the LS still worked fine, the interior was flawless, the Koni suspension was not bad, exhaust made a great sound etc. I took the LS and took everything out and put it in the GS-R, along with another $1000 in parts. I traded the LS shell for some parts for the GS-R and drove it for a while. I recently sold it for $2400.

I no longer have an Integra.
