No, they aren't. B16 and B17 black have a shorter deck height. VTEC engines have oil squirters. The block girdles vary. The bores sizes also vary. The dowel pins on the deck are different.

The B18A and B18B are both 1,834cc. The B18C's are 1797cc. That doesn't mean they are stronger though

It's because the non-VTEC engines have a slightly longer stroke (by 1.8mm)
