what are the chances of making 250hp on an '00 ls

i just wanna know if this is possible without ripping apart the block, besides for cams
It's impossible to reach 250 hp all motor without touching the block. Your only hope is a turbo, supercharger or nitrous.

if you have the funds there was a thread on here a while ago about a fully built ls that was pushing like 220 i think? maybe it was only 200 but it was between those. your better off just swapping in a mildly built gsr motor. that is if you want to go n/a. if not turbo that bitch and youll be just fine.

well i mean i wanna build it to around there, and im not sure if i wanna turbo it for it being a daily driver, despite the limited cash flow i have.

i know what i want to do just too broke to do it,

will lightweight cams make a difference in how quickly i rev up

ive done my intake so far, had a buddy mandrel bend me a custom 3" intake with a k&n filter, but as par as hp gain and price what would be my next best bet

i want power gain without filling a bottle lol im kinda poor atm,

although i was thinking a A/F ratio gauge might be something i would wanna invest in, and i only want a readout not a controller like some of aem's uego gauges, do they make a simple kit for just a readout?

Go with a good header and exhaust. That would be your next best bet for a power gain. I've never heard of lightweight cams, is there a specific brand your talking about?

Cam weight? Don't worry about that. Cams do have a maximum RPM they can spin at, it's called limit speed. It's typically a very high RPM that the vast majority of guys don't need to be concerned with approaching.

A 3 inch intake arm for an LS is a bit big, moving your powerband up the RPM range. Do a header/high flow cat/exhaust next. What size header and exhaust depends on what your other mods will be, and where you want your powerband to be (midrange or high).

you're gonna need a LOT more work that that if you're shooting for around 250whp.....
the most logical way for you to reach your goals.....would obviously be BOOST. Buddy of mine has a boosted LS, COMPLETELY stock (besides injectors) making 280whp on 14psi. I honestly wouldnt go to much past 14psi, on a stock LS. So therefore you could safely make 250whp with your STOCK LS, on about 11-12psi.
And i forgot what size turbo he is running....i will find out tonight. i do remember that it is rather small....quick spool up FTW!

ok, and i know its going to take alot more mods, but i mean id rather drop 2-5 grand on a good turbo kit with everything i need to get up in the 220's + as opposed to spending the same and maybe getting to 180

DO the G23 Vtech lol. h22 head and f23 bottom block with rsx piston. can give you almost more then 250 hp

it says on the dyno graph theyre fully built, and i dont have the equipment nor the time or space to do an engine swap, im hopeing a turbo is the way to go because im headed there, but i wanna keep my power steering and thats making a kit kinda hard to find, how much fabrication and and or welding is required with those kits because i cant do either lol
i was looking at the full race one http://www.turbo-kits.com/integra_tu...l#94-01integra because i wanna keep my p/s, a/c i really dont care about removing it would be the issue lol but aside from that does that kit have everything i need, should i get (for costs) a vafc or safc and or bigger injectors and fuel pump

forgot to ask will boosting my motor to like 6-7psi shorten its life by a hell of a lot, btw it has 87k on it

Your motor will be fine and those kits from full race are very good. You shouldn't have to remove anything using them.
