if im not mistaken MIRRORIMG has a b18a1 puttin out around 190 at the wheels correct??
My build probably wont make more than 180HP at the wheels.
As for the original poster, what is your budget? Everyone is going to try to tell you "This is better if you do this." but I don't think there is a simple line saying "This specific setup is better than this one."

A budget and a goal is something to think about before starting anything.

This is not a daily driver so it will be in the gerage from end of oct. Till April, so I got time to make $. I wanna make around 250-300 hp is that even possible with a B18a1?

300 whp?? 6000 for a budget hahah jk but seriously, to make that kind of power your gonna have to do a head swap, b16 head, or gsr i guess, then bore it out maybe to 82mm, get a 3angle valve job, go low comp for you boost, cams, pistons, sleave, good port n polish, thats just a start, so basically you gonna nead to go vtec on boost on steriods :)

A B18B is a great motor to start with because you can go at it from a few different directions. Plus, a lot of us start off with them in our cars. Whether you go boost or NA, it's a good template because the low compression of the engine allows you to boost a stock (healthy) motor to around 300whp safely. It's also got NA potential because an LS/VTEC build is a sweet NA budget build.

Your signature totally makes me angry.

Isn't that like a fast and the furious quote? And no replacement for displacement? Like someone else said.. it's a god damn Honda.. Oh and just so you know, free speech isn't "I can say whatever to whomever" it's really something like free religious/political speech.

My initial thought is that this is your first car, and your thought is "I wanna go fast!" to quote Ricky Bobby. Research a lot, know exactly where to spend your money, what ECU to buy, everything. I mean do you actually know how much 300hp is? It's a lot more than one would think.

NEGATIVE, your not gonna boost a stock motor to 300whp off and a1, healthy, not gonna happen,

buy a k20 or a h22 if your lookin for that, or sell you teggy buy a 240, swap it to a 1jz for that kinda power!!! wat i wanna do!

why does my sig piss you off?

how much does a decent or blown up but rebuildable k20or h22 go for, if i didnt have such a nice platform i would lol

this insnt my first car but im used to heavy cars like firebirds or camaros. im sure theres a bid diff in 300 in those and an integra but like i said this isnt a daily driver so it is GO BIG OR GO HOME!!!

rockadilla

thats right.
If ur motor is healthy, like mirrorimg said they can handle about 300whp without having to build the engine, best route that I can get from the info u gave us is turbo. Just piece together a turbo for around 2-3k and then get a good tune and ur set. No need to do an engine swap or anything dude.

300hp is a big difference in a camaro/firebird than an Integra. The first thing that comes to mind isn't weight but gearing. The axles probably have pretty different gearing. I assume the camaro/firebird has a lower gearing.

Just make sure you engine is healthy before plopping a turbo on it, because it will decrease the engine's life.
