unusual misfiring problem

Do a compression test. g3teg97's does it every time it sits for a day or two. If the compression is low try the compression fix in the yellow bottle. It stopped his from missing for now.

Not to steal your thread but i have a 99 integra and it is showing me CEL 71-74 does i know its something about misfiring but can some one break it down into detail for me?? appreciate it. thanks

you're misfiring on all 4 cylinders. a good way to start off fixing it, whether its been done already or not, is to replace the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor.

thats retarded.
How is that retarted?

If my car sits for at least 2 or 3 days without being started it will normally miss 1 or 2 clyinders and throw a CEL. Each time I go to DiscountAuto and scan it, misfire code. Clear the code then drive around for a while. No CEL. We're not sure exactly what is causing it, but I do have low compression in clyinder 3.

If you know you have low compression on cylinder 3, then why would you compression test it. The dude about said that you do a compression test EVERY time the car sits for a few days. THATS retarded. If its broken, then fix it. Its that simple. Dont do the same things over and over again hoping that itll get better.

he's referring to g3teg97's integra, hence the indication of possession. he's not saying that g3 compression tests it all the time...

I never said that we do a compression test everytime.... There was a period between the two statements. Also, after we put the stop leak stuff in he hasn't had a problem since, 2 months. It takes money and time to install a bottom end. Something that we don't have right now.

lol. Nevermind the period. I didnt see the ' in his name. Meaning it was his car. Not that he does a compression test every time. Sorry for the confusion.

No problem.

Rocco isn't the best when it comes to speaking.

Seriously though, its a very weird thing but when my car sits for at least two days it throws a misfire code. I've never been able to figure out except we did a compression test on another issue that we thought. (Poor MPG, burning of oil, etc). That test showed that one of the cylinders doesn't hold compression like the others. So, as a "band-aid" kit I've used No-leak and this compression restorer a couple times (Not seafoam) and it seems like it's running a little better.

Of course I actually need a rebuild but like Rocco said the bottom end will take money and time and I'm not going to do it twice so it may take more money that I think.
