well first off you dont wanna lot of rear down for on a front wheel drive car. Physics> you
Because a rear flap that is about two inches long will displace that much down force on your rear wheels. I believe the word you're looking for is drag, which it will add a slight bit, but still won't cause a huge amount of downforce... it would be related to your antennae.

It's merely a cosmetic mod.

i dont expect the type r wing w/ gurney flap to provide much downforce, i just want more than with no wing. I know that the type-r wing is not that high up in the "airstream" or w/e u call it, but i think it will help me out...like i said earlier on, i will be getting a front splitter from P-1 racing so it will help reduce understeer

My comment was not directed towards you OP. You continue doing what you want to, I'm just defending the fact that this guy really said Physics > you, when he clearly doesn't even know what he is talking about himself.

downforce my ass you dont drive corvette zr1's or 600hp porsches we all drive 200-300 hp hondas i honestly think a fully built suspension ie- sway bars(aftermarket),upper and lower control arms, polyurethane bushings, sway bars, under braces, tie bars, lowering springs and struts, and etc will do a whole lot more then a dumb wing its a preference part when ya drive a honda

in all reality, downforce is only as good as the components throughout the car which control airflow. simply bolting a spoiler on a front wheel car isnt going to do much. however, proven by Mugen through the G1 and G2 kits, the spoiler does work in conjunction with the front lip, sideskirts and rear lip to develop a particular control of airflow which does indeed improve downforce at 85-9x mph...basically a track/highway car.

^ well i have reviewed the data from APR for their 3-D CF wings and those are proven that they provide downforce.

^^ honeslty it really doesnt matter if your driving something that has 100hp or 1000hp, if you have the right components on your car, having a front splitter, canards, rear wing will help in making your car planed to the road. depending on the components and testing, you can reduce under/oversteer depending on how much testing you do

and all those things you listed that would be better, i have all of those things on my car. my car handles like its on rails but my back end does like to slide out a little bit, which is why im thinking of getting a front splitter to reduce understeer and a rear wing to try and get the back planted better (stickier tires will help too)

Yes, downforce definitely plays a big role in racing. So, did you ever get a Gurney Flap or rear wing?
