Turbo w/ high compression

not exactly an advocate for high, high compression.

I have realized a few problems you will run into:

Fuel octane: 12:1 is past the safe CR to run 93 octane. Solution: Race fuel ALWAYS or 93 octane with a methanol race set up, Almost 100% methanol.

Engine temps: The methanol will help to keep these down, so will the race fue. or you could risk running 93 and have less timing. But this will also kill low end power.

Problem with methanol: you need to get the mixture perfect, need to keep it full, and need to stay away from sharp turns where the chance of the mixture shifting to 1 side.

fuel octane: the higher the octane the cooler it burns.

you need to keep this engine as cool as possible. less timing, higher octane fuel, and methanol injection are all ideas to aid in this. 12:1 can be done, and i have seen it. you will be very happy with results, and even happier with the remarks of other people.

tune, tune, then tune some more. this is very possible to achieve. you need to know what your doing, and have money, lots of money.

The problem isn't running 12:1 compression, that can be easliy done. I'm running 12.5:1 on my M3. I have seen 13:1 ratios run on 93 octane. Just need a proper tune. The thing I was wondering about is if I could possibly turbo it with a correct setup.

the timing is not by any means stock. it must be retard some degrees.

Yes you can. I had a friend who had a 92 hatch. he had a b18c fully built with 12:1 compression. he wanted to turbo it. he took out the cams, got turbo crower cams, added methanol and retarted his timing just a couple of degrees he used a aem engine management. he tunned it himself. he was truely a honda genius.

Well Its going to be forged, balanced, and sleeved. I really don't want another High boost car. I had just gotten rid of my 240 running 29Lbs. Its just something for the future. I still have to get the motor together, if all my parts ever get here.
I'd rather be blown than stroked any day. :naughty:

That's amazing the only problem is that I plan on keeping this a streetable driver. This might be something I take to work a couple times out of the week so I'm really not trying to use methanol. Maybe I'll leave the turbo for something else...
