ebay turbos are a toss up some last for a while and some eat it. you can always have the internals rebuilt with garret parts or something like that when it blows up :)

movement up and down isnt all that bad to a certain extent. move ment in and out id death. to much up and down is death too, it can only be a little, dont remember the exact amount. you can pick the turbos (ebay) for 100$ ill sell you 2 for 50$

or for the price of the rebuild you can buy a rebuilt garrett with a warrenty.

Ive worked on a lot of factory turboed GTI's that are having turbo problems. So far ive diagnosed 4 with that problem.

Thanks for all the advice, I think i'm gonna pass. I want to piece together a better quality kit thats going to be reliable because it will be driven daily.

well a guy who has built them professionally for over 15 years and has built turbo's for big name drag guys told me some up and down play isnt too bad, yes its bad but doesnt mean the turbo is "trash" as long as its within a certain spec.. just sayin.

EDIT: isnt that bad for street guys pushin 300hp.. all in what your doin withit
