The stage 4 clutch is just over kill for your basically stock car.
Well I've been driving it for like almost 5-6 months and nothings wrong with my car..I mean what you say would be true if you're an idiot driver who floors/slams the gas/double clutches/sucks at driving stick shift..then of course I can understand that...but my cars a daily driven car and has never had any problems. So even if you were right about the stage 4 clutch being "bad" for a stock engine car...then i dont think anyone would've bought it in the first place. Besides everyone has to start with something right? From one point to another right?

Ok, by stage 4 what do you mean? What company's stage 4? Is it a sprung 6 puck, unsprung 4 puck? I dont understand all this talk of stages, you dont hear that with DSMs, so Im kinda lost. If it is what I think it is, its probably a 6 puck, could be sprung or unsprung. In which case, it is going to be harder on the trans and the axles that a stock would and needs to be slipped more than a stock. That type of clutch needs to be slipped to keep it working correctly, but it wont develop hot spots or warp like a stock clutch would if it were driven in the same manner. And if its unsprung, I hope you dont have stock axles or your gonna break them (or one if you dont have an lsd) quickly if you launch hard alot.
and to the guy who said "Fuck NOS", go watch the Fast and the Furious some more Vin Diesel. Nos is just a brand name, its owned by Holly. Nitrous is the term you were looking for.

I understand what he is getting at. It's just that one companies definition of a stage 4 doesn't quite equal anothers. I doubt an ebay stage 4 clutch would be able to outperform my Exedy multi-plate. DSM people focus more on pressure plate clamping force, friction materials, and the design. Not just on some companies claim of "stage 4"

Stage 4 is not a company.
Im aware that stage 4 is not a company. The point I was making is that two companies such as ACT and Centerforce may define "stage 4" differently from one another.
dc2gsr-thank you for translating for him. I must have been speaking DSM again. lol

So were DSM's actually made in Japan or were they built here?

I'm pretty sure the Eclipse wasn't even available in J-land.

Nope. They are built here. Eclipse's are only built for left hand drive markets. I'd like to take my GSX to Japan :D
