Turbo manifold or header?

Hi everyone, I am about to order a turbonetics turbo kit and I have a choice between a header or a manifold, I was wondering which everyone recommends and maybe to know what the positives and negatives are to both. I know I want to keep my ac and my power steering and I would choose both of those over a turbo kit any day so i am not sure if that info helps I know some turbos make you choose between one or the other or both. Any info would be appreciated. If you are just going to reply with some negative comment please dont bother, I have a fiancee I dont need another ass in my life ;)

Thanks a lot everyone.

I'm confused... Headers are used for NA setups, manifolds and down pipes replace them when going turbo... Are you referring to a log style maniold vs. a tubular manifold?

I was told tubular was a header and the "log" you are referring to are manifolds, this is what I was told by a exhaust shop anyways I am no mechanic by any means, however this is neither here nor there, but yes what you described is what I am looking to find out. Any suggestions?

Yeah they are both manifolds.

Tubular tend to yield better power results and have a wider variety of styles and designs to chose from which will help you with keeping AC and PS. Only real downside is poorly crafted ones have a tendency to crack at welding points

Log style are cheaper generally, also a fair sight uglier and they don't flow as well. That said they are very sturdy (well, most are..) and some offer different solutions for mounting.

I'm not an expert on what works with keeping AC and PS but from my knowledge I'd have to go with tubular IMHO

thanks a lot klutch that was very helpful, i really appreciate the help, again I am no mechanic by any means, so spending as much money as I am about to i rather get my moneys worth ;)

Definitely. I would contact turbonetics and see if either of their manifolds work with both AC and PS, and from there make your decision :thumbs up

I've done a ton of research on a/c ps compatible manifolds and inline-pro is a good manifold and best bang for the buck I'd say, AFI Turbo has a new manifold that lets you keep a/c ps and it's a redesigned tubular ram horn manifold. It cost around $600-700 or about $900 with downpipe/dump tube combo. I was going to get the AFI one but I got a good deal on a SFP turbo manifold which is similar to inline-pro manifold. I'd go for the inline-pro manifold if you can get a good deal on it.

Just go to go-autoworks.com they have everything you need ac ps kept. For not a terrible price.
