So i've been saving up to get a turbo kit. ok well i still am saving up, lol. But i was wondering which one of these would be the best one to go with for my daily driver.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Civic-EG-Integra-94-01-DC2-B16-B18-Turbo-Kit-94-95-96_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2ea8a4c527QQitemZ200397866279QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

^^^ Yeah this one is mainly a cheaper one and kinda seems like the rubber is plastic-y. lol... PLus idk if i should get a cast iron manifold or aluminum. which one is better?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ACURA-INTEGRA-94-01-DC2-RS-LS-GS-GSR-TURBO-KIT-WG-BOV_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem27ac700127QQitemZ170396746023QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

^^^This one seems to look almost like the one above. Its just 10 more expensive on shipping. so idk

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ACURA-INTEGRA-94-97-T3-T4-T04E-B-TURBO-CHARGER-KIT-95_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem255659af03QQitemZ160362508035QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

^^^ And this one seems like a decent one with all the chrome and stuff but still idk.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/B-STAINLESS-TURBO-KIT-ACURA-INTEGRA-ALL-MODEL-94-96-97_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem27abc9e9f9QQitemZ170385861113QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

^^^I think i like this one the best though because it has the chrome or shinny manifold. But its more expensive and i'd rather not pay a lot of money. Like >700 i can deal with but more and i dont really want to. But i like the chrome so idk.

Guys so tell tell me which u think i should get?! which would be the best for my stock rs manual 94 teg. (well i have an intake lol but turbo would replace that so yeah its stock lol)
Any comments would help!!!!!!
Thanks! :D

This thread = Fail.

Dude if you truly know what you're looking for you won't buy and eBay turbo kit...

I don't think you even know what you're looking at. If you buy any of the first three kits, you're asking for boost creep or a leak with those shitty manifolds.

The last kit looks the "best". IF you buy any of those - which I HIGHLY suggest against - you're gonna wanna have the turbos rebuilt and replace a lot of those lines. And you'll need a chipped ecu or standalone for tuning.

And just because your friend is a mechanic doesn't mean he knows what he's doing. I've worked in shops with both competent and completely retarded people; all of whom were still 'mechanics'.

Good luck, please make the smart decision here...

well he said if i just put 6 - 8lbs of boost on for normal days i would be good. So u think my motor couldnt handle it or something? why would it start to leak?

ok and PLEASE STFU about threads failing! and all the other guys who YES do know what they're talking about but some of us dont. And so this is how we learn! I dont fail. I just dont know lol...

8 pounds is okay, your stock internals will handle it fine. You'll be expecting around 180-200whp if its an LS. - what he means by leak is when some of the pressure is actually leaking. A buddy of mine that had some high end manifold (WINIKI on this forumn) had a crack in it, thus he could not produce as much power as he wanted because the of the crack. This can also happen because of cheaping out on t bolt clamps and elbows. Boost creep idk much about myself someone else will have to answer that, I'm boosting my car this thanksgiving so ive slowly been learning about turbo's.

-PS TUNING WILL BE THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR BUILD. DOOOOO NOT CHEAP OUT ON THIS. Get someone reputable and with experience to do this. GOOD LUCK MAN

Your friend doesnt have enough experience with turbo's if he actually made the comment "just put 6 - 8lbs of boost on for normal days i would be good." The amount of pressure you push is dependent of the size of the turbo and how good of a tuner you have.

Please do some research before you buy any kits. Team-integra has a ton of articles on turbochargers. Dont cheap out on a turbo kit because you will always get what you pay for.

good info man. yeah i have an rs so its even better with the weight. So how would it get a crack in it anyway? come like that or it building too much pressure? and the t bolt clamps and elbows are the things that connect the pipes right? how would that cause a crack?

Yeah i've been kinda figuring out that u really want to tune your car like that once u get a turbo. And tuning is like replacing parts right? I know some but not a lot lol.
Thanks!

How would it crack? Think about what heat does to metal, exhaust gas is hot, now put hot gas through shitty metal with shitty welds.
Shitty parts=shitty build results. Get a reputable kit like a Greddy. You'll be happier in the end.

Umm well im pretty sure he has enough expirience cus hes ran a turbo on his car. Hes done SOOO much to it! actually it looks like yours. Hes got the jdm front end with a itr spoiler and his paint is black with a hint of green lol. ill have to talk him into registerin on here. But yeah he full out raced his car (97 gsr manual) for tons of years on a race track in atlanta, and yet it still hauls ass lol. So yeah i think he's trustable on his info. But yeah il have to ask him some more questions then.
Thanks for your input though :)

I hadnt read through this until after I posted. You do not want to turbocharge your car. You are not ready and have not done enough research to even consider buying a kit. Those kits all look super cheap and crappy, with no brand on the turbo. Ebay specials, they are a load of junk. You will be spending lots more than $700.

You should expect to pay AT LEAST $1500 on parts. You will probably save money piecing the kit together, but it will take more time hunting down good deals. You would also need more for an engine management system (eCtune, Hondata, Crome[free]) and have a professional tuner tune it. In a nutshell, tuning is where the tuner takes the car to a dyno, and plugs a computer into it. He modifies settings on the ECU so that the engine performs its best and makes its most power. You should NEVER drive a turbocharged car unless it has been tuned.

thanks:)

Oh ok i get the tune thing. But im still stuck on how my friend ran a turbo HARD for years and yet he bought it off ebay.
And why would i not consider a turbo. I know how its put together and stuff and about the wastegate. what am i missing?

lol @ this "buy legit or it's going to break" idea....

I know multiple people that have been running ebay turbo kits for PLENTY of time... friend of mine is almost to 2 years on his kit.

If you're really that worried about it, IMO get everything, then go buy a rebuild kit from a reputable brand and just throw the hardware into the turbo. any "good" tuner should know what to get for you. A local guy rebuilds ebay shit with garret parts all the time. hella cheap, and I havent seen a single one come back to him, or heard of anyone upset about it.

Cheap builds are the way to go! I got a buddy who just boosted a teg with 700 bucks with a good tune and 3" exhaust. Hell, I bought and boosted a civic for 500 total. IMO if you're not trying to run 200+ hp, and you're not an idiot when it comes to putting your foot on the gas, there's absolutely nothing wrong with ebay kits.
