NGK v power. They're like 2.09 a piece. You gotta change then frequently anyway so why not.

Hell I put v power plugs in my car.

I thought the GSR and ITR ran different plugs and the V Power was for the non-VTEC engines.

You can run v power in anything. The only thing different is the spark plug gap.

I am running the ngk iridium in my car now and have over 10k miles on them and they still look very clean with less than minimum tannish color. Why keep spending the money on the standard plugs evry 6 months...thats a waste to me..

you might also want to take some time and check the vaccum hoses and replace any that are cracked/dry rotted and such. take a minute to clean out the little filters on top of the injectors, you never know what might be there, then replace the fuel filter, I have put one of the clear view fuel filters you can get at any parts store in between the injectors and stock fuel filter, just an added security.

You drive 10k miles in 6 months??
And there's usually nothing wrong with the plugs I remove at 10k miles even the 3$ NGKS

Iridiums have there place in the performance world but for a DD a simple platinum is 1/3 the cost and will last a couple years easily

But +1 on checking all the vacuum lines and coolant hoses

And a little extra filter never hurt no one

I have used iridiums since they came out for motorcycles and seen really good results, I have still got a set in my old 78 gs1000 that has been in the bike for 5 years. The iridium is a harder material and the spark is much better even with the stock ignition all the way up to my msd ignition on my gs.

yes i have driven 10k in 6 months..so what...
The extra couple buks i spent on the plugs is worth it..
Iridiums are well worth the money and when I can get the plugs for cheap then why not...

Another tune up or preventative maintenance tip is to clean up the distributor plug ins, a little attention there can go a long way. And another one that is cheap is the grounds, check em and replace if need be

I had ten year old autolites coppers in my jeep until last week, truck ran fine and they cost me 98 cents lol

Bike engines TEND to have higher compression ratios, and in a higher cylinder pressure environment is where an iridium plug really shines, hence why most turbo cars run them..

Not trying to pick a fight, just trying to help the op from buying parts he will get no extra benefit from, for 3-4x the cost

OP: if you want iridium plugs go for it, but a simple 2$ platinum will do the same job as an 8-12$ iridium and last equally as long

I was pretty sure most modified guys use copper core plugs.

Iridium is for longevity
Copper is for spark

Iridium is the middle child

Copper conducts best but no longevity, platinum conducts worst but lasts
Iridium conducts well and lasts hence the $$

But in a stock ignition you will see no gains from a better plug, the crappiest plug is less resistant then the rest of your ignition system
