this is a question. are you a ricer if you get a really cheap car and fix it up. im talking more show than go.

i dont think you can say a person is a ricer if they prefer form over function. for instance, if they have ground fx, big wheels, new paint, halo headlights, GOOD LOOKING (maybe CF) altezza tails, and a sound system. thats def more show than go, but if it looks good i will give em props. just cuz they dont care about performance doesnt bother me. besides, if they piss me off ill just whoop em racin. :lol:

now if they are going for the "show" look by putting a massive tip on, and the chrome spinner hubcaps, and the chrome striping on the doors and wheel wells, and the big fin, then that would seem much more ricer than someone who has a good looking (altho slow) car.

just have to comment real quick about the CF hood. i ordered one for my civic, it was OEM style. they botched it and sent me an OEM style 94-01 integra hood (that sucked). anyway, i was just ginna say that still i tried it and it bolted right on to my factory hinges. i had pics, but i don't now

Yeah that movie is the burden of our existance, there are some of us older tuners who have been doing this long before that friggen movie came out, its caught like wild fire where I live and people really think that if you slap a "nos" system in your car your ready to race. Im not against people doing what they want but when there "idea" of style encroaches on mine then disrespect must be delt. yeah ricers are well defined by the author, but in general i ignore the ricers and if they want something tell them to go to the track where the " real" cars are and see whats up then!

I wouldn't call your brother a ricer. I mean the EVO is all wheel drive so theres some purpose there for the wing. The exhaust tip size is normal for a turbo car, they are supposed to be big. And as far as sportin your local shops banner on your car, I see nothing wrong with that.

well, all i can say is if you guys wanna slap a "ricer" tag on someone, go for it. when you do tho, think of how bad you hate the guys that call US ricers in our stockish looking tegs. the same way they cant categorize us, we cant categorize other so-called "spocommers". you dont know that persons situation. maybe they bought the tails first, and a turbo is on the way. and the big spoiler is not an auto "ricer" tag, like prez pointed out. neither are the tails.

im not saying anyone should hold back from voicing their opinions. but if they do have an opinion, say it, there aint no need to BS about how stupid people are cuz they have different tastes than you. :roll:
