No, driver side axle does not move. Just the 3 bolts from the intermediate shaft so that part can be moved around. There is no side to side movement of any sort required for the axles. It can probly be done without taking those bolts out but I found its easier to be able to swing that "ear" around as needed.

well i guess i'll see when i have to do mine...u dont have to pull the inter. shaft out though, right?

Nope, just the bolts so the mounting bracket on it can rotate freely to move out of the way as needed. Iirc the first time I kept the intermediate shaft bolted in but it was a pain in the ass. Last time I had to pull my o2 sensor, didn't before. Guess it all depends on how you twist it around lol.

I paid like 450 bucks for a distibutor installed like 7 years ago in ny hatch, before I knew anything.

Btw, I just installed both front axels last month, lifetime warranty from oriely.
