yea...im saying i dont car what anyone says.....if you upsize the wheel on anycar....its not gonna improve handling...i mean your upping your wheel size by 2 inches.....depending on tires size...i would say on average thats still a good 1 to 1.5 inches taller than you should be........easier said........a taller car cannot out handle a lower car.....unless....the car is below its lowing point....now personally i would love to go lower....but them it would bind up even more when cornering hard......so stock size wheels......maybe a little wider......FTW!!!
um.. i dont know how they do it where you live.. or where you heard your information on plus sizing rims.. but when go to wider rims, they generally give you narrower tires so that it equals the same total wheel (rim/tire) diameter as stock. For example, here is a pic of one of my stock wheels next to my 17's on each of my tegs. What do ya know.. exactly the same hight.

Ride hight, is NOT increased, therefore there is no performance loss in the type that you mentioned. The main loss in performance would be the rim being heavier than the stock rim. Based on physics, it will take more force/energy to start a heavier wheel turning as well as more force to bring a heavier moving wheel to a stop. So compared to a bone-stock integra, an integra with everything stock except for bigger/heavier rims will accelerate slower and take longer (or a higher amount of brake wear) to bring to a stop from any given speed. Thats why forged rims are expensive, because you can get larger rims, i.e. 17 & 18", that weigh the same as, or less than, our stock 15" rims due to the process of forging. So you get the benefits of larger rims with none of the normal drawbacks to accel/decel rates and increased unsprung weight.

There IS performance gain with handling due to the rim being wider from side to side. A wider wheel offers more area that is available for friction. This will allow the car's grip to improve while turning because the contact area with the ground has been improved. Also with the narrower tire sidewall, the tire flex is reduced adding more stability during cornering.

there is no way stechs are a 2.5" drop if you still have a 2 finger gap in front

on h&r sports i had almost no gap on 17s
First off, I said I can almost fit two fingers in the gap. Its actually more like my middle finger and half my pointer finger. I also dont have really wide fingers.

Secondly, you can check www.Tein.com if you do not believe the specs i gave you.

Thirdly, here is a pic of stock ride height compared to mine on s.techs. Believe it or not, that IS a 2.5 inch difference. I know its easy to forget how high our car's stance originally was, but there you have it.

Thirdly, i've heard that h&r's sag quite a bit, which may be why yours had almost no gap.

..no offense to anyone, but i feel like i took some wrong turn and posted this thread on ClubRetarded.com.. Why do i have to keep explaining things and provide photo examples for things that should be obvious to members of an "integra" forum/website..? :wtf:

ditto.

I have a .5finger gap on my car right now... full 2.5inch drop from Skunk2's 8)

ie - rolling on 15" LS webs w/ 195/55/15's

i wasnt trying to be a dick or nothin i was just confused cause i know the h&r's arent that low and i had almost no gap ... but could be sagging like you said.

also 17s weigh a lot more, i checked out the difference a while ago compared to 14" civic dx rims when i still had my icw's

its coo, man. I'm a little hung over and cranky. haha.

actually, the weight depends on the wheel and how it was constructed. USDM ITR 15x6 rims are "cast" made and weigh in at 15.6 lbs. 17x7.5" SSR Competition rims, on the other hand, are "forged" and weigh in at 13.3 lbs.. so it depends on the rim design (more or larger spokes = more metal used = more weight) as well as how it was contructed (cast is generally heavier than forged, comparitively).

Also, the amount of wheel gap that you can stick your finger in is effected by wheel width (some 17" rims are 7" wide, and some are 7.5) as well as wheel offset. If the rim is wider or offset greater, that can reduce the amount of space between the tire and fender that you can stick your finger in.

You can actually put 19s on an RSX, but I think 18 should be the largest size. Same with the integra, 17 should be the largest.
My buddy had 235/35-19's on an RSX-S with Ground Control C/O's lowered over 2 inches on Koni Yellows before he went back to 17's and it still didn't rub during very hard cornering. I've seen 19's on a DC4. Very slow, very ugly, rode like SHIT......etc!
