By the end of May I guess. It's gonna be a busy spring. I'm putting a big system into a 2003 GTI this spring too.
Yesterday, I did make plates for the rear mids to go into the stock 6x9 holes:

Started upgrading the OEM grounds, and a bigger power wire to run from the alternator to the battery:



0ga from the block to the body.
0ga from the battery neg. to the block.
4ga from the alternator to the battery pos. Using 4ga becuase I'm keeping the 10 guage OEM wire as well, using them both.

Finished up under the hood. And did an upgrade I origionally didn't plan on doing, new battery terminals.

i was gonna do the hinged thing so i can get to my spare. only i was gonna use a really nice piece of not particle board. but that really nice looking plywood. think that would work? i was just gonna use the old trunk floor as a template.

That's the OEM trunk board I hinged. But that is a good idea if you don't want to cut your OEM board, use it as the template and there you go. I didn't mind cutting mine. It's just a trunk board, I can make a new one.
