Well, some bad news everyone. Not a whole lot has happened with the teg until Friday night. I left for work an hour early to get some food, and while in line I heard my car making a strange noise like something was rubbing against a moving part or something. So I drive to work, eat in the parking lot, then proceed to pop the hood and see what's up. The noise seemed to be coming from under the timing belt cover, so I thought it would be wise to make sure my timing belt was ok. In the process of pulling the top part of the cover off, the little rubber gasket that attaches to it that fits around the motor mount fell off and down into the lower part of the cover, unknown to me. When I saw nothing wrong, I went to start the car. When I tried to start her up, she wouldn't turn over very much, almost like having a dead-ish battery. So while looking around I somehow saw the little piece down in there. I went inside, bought one of those bendy claw things, and got it out. Thinking I had solved the issue, I went to start the car again. Same thing. So after some help from a friend, I couldn't get it started and gave up, going to work instead since I was already 2 hours late clocking in. I got a ride home from a friend and my dad came up to where I live now the next morning. That night, when I picked up the rubber piece that had fallen in, I noticed it was a little chewed up, causing me to believe it had gone through the timing belt and caused it to skip a tooth or two. Boy was I right. The next day my dad and I put it back in time, but it still wouldn't run unless I had the gas pressed, and even then it ran like complete shit and made a weird noise once I stopped. We did a compression test and sure enough, cylinder #3 comes back 50psi low, all the rest being at a perfect 145-150 range. So tomorrow the car is being towed back to my parents house where the head will be coming off and sent to a local shop the get the valves that are bent fixed. What a great Christmas!
On a semi-happier note, I ordered a set of Yonaka full coilovers for her as a Christmas present from my parents and myself. I'm paying what the money they gave me from Christmas doesn't cover, so about $375. Hopefully this repair won't be too much so I'll be able to keep them. Shop should charge right around $150 to fix the valves. Stay tuned for some updates. The coilovers will be in on the 2nd so I'll be writing up a review since there aren't very many for that brand.
