Strut problem

OK,
I'll take it off tonight and I'll take a picture of the whole assembly, out of the car. There is another washer on top of the strut's pole.

I just installed the original washers, still the same problem, the strut rod coming up.

What can I do to fill that room in the strut rod, can I add a mounting collar or some kind of spacer? Do they sell this kit?

I bought the original strut kit at Acuras, that solved the problem. Still low but I can use the car. thanks for your comments.

Your strut should be tapered about 3" from the top that increases the size of the shaft. The washer should not be able to pass that. if so its the wrong one. After that a bushing goes on then slide it through the housing put the other bushing on then that washer then the nut. I have done this swap a hundred times for aftermarket to factory struts. there all the same. that part of the shaft does not change in length only the section that is actually in the casing does.
