If you're worried about the engine situation, the evo engines are a lot like our teg engines. Just way more beastly. Lol. I don't know too much about either one, actually nothing at all about the subie save for what I've read about, but I like evos way more. However I would choose the subie just because they're cheaper to purchase most of the time.

Looking for my next Teg..
yeah if I went evo it would prolly be a IX or X MR version

The more I hear about cooling issues with the Subbie... the more I lean towards an Evo honestly... I got enough with cooling problems with my DA lol.last thing I want is 2 cars to be tearing apart chasing cooling issues.

I personally think I like the exterior look of the Evo better, plus it looks like everyone has a damn WRX around here in the southbay. ( prolly why they are cheaper) Then again I like the Subbie alot too. Girlfriend is on board with either or, and I just got a email that I passed my Background check & may be starting a new job with better pay and the whole shebang. If that is the case I'm gonna put my down payment on Sharks season tix, and start planningmy new toy purchase a little sooner than a year from now.

That said keep your comments & opinions coming :) Much thanks guys!

I'd get a brand new WRX, I wouldn't want somebody elses project...and a 2013/14 WRX is cheaper than like a 2008 X GSR.

EVO, if you ever decide you want it fast, you'll save an assload of money. I feel like Subaru's are way more expensive in every way

not worried about cheaper upfront cost... going to prolly finance it anyways. based on further research the Evo looks like it would be far easier and cost effective to do aftermarket upgrades to later on down the road & would be much more tinker friendly to a DIY nut like myself.

The more research I do regarding known issues, maintenance, & aftermarket part availability combined with ability to be worked on at home has me leaning Evo.

Thanks to everyone who gave their input!!!

I would get the EVO 8 or 9 its less money to fix and mod, has a lot of room in engine bay . If you wanna worry about cooling problems and hear your engine knock b/c of oil it burned, and have the famous bad stock tune they gave them, and have no space to work, and the famous 2nd gear problem they all have, and pay a s*** load of money to maintane, and mod then get your self a sti. LoL my friend has a EVO9 mr, and only problems be had was clutch and bov leak. Just my :twocents:

Vtec? I have V-TAK! Son..
The Subbie WRX fun factor is way better than the EVO......Love the WRX rugged, not too fancy look versus the EVO "GLAM" look little bells and whistles too attract looks...

Got vtec?
The new Evos look and sound boring imo. Hands down get the sti, or if you're interested in modding your purchase and saving money buy a wrx and get it tuned. My buddie has a stage 2 09 wrx and it's a beast.
