Hey, i got in an accient in my teggy, and my front bumper is now super scratched up. If I sanded off the clearcoat and paint, and primered and painted the bumper with a spray can, would it turn out ok?

I dont expect it to be amazing, but the rest of my car doesnt look that nice anyways. Just so it looks decent.

heck yeah, iv'e done plenty of that stuff
wet sanded? it comes out smoother, use primer sealer, and then choose your color and clear coat too best results that way

I enjoy Integras.
Go to automotivetouchup.com. They sell spray cans of factory colors and high gloss clear coats. That's what I'm doing when I paint my bumper.

Actually duplicolor IS the cheap shit hahaha.
Cheap as in price.. not quality. They have the whole paint shop system. Problem with it though, it comes thinned already, so you can't stretch the paint to go farther lol.

Edit:
Oh I think you mean rattle can. I was referring to the quarts of paint.

i have a novel idea. i always thought about using model car paint to paint real cars and just use one of the model car paint spray guns. i just figured if you thinned the paint out enough, you would be able to paint a good size portion of your car with just the one or two of those tiny bottles of paint. I have made a few model cars and i must say that paint is pretty tough and does stick pretty good. even to plastic as long as its cleaned well. It might look good. Maybe as good as real paint shop. But then again its just an idea. The paint might not stand up to the elements like i think it would, but to me the paint seems pretty dang tough. I might try it out on some body parts my parents are throwing out assuming i can get an air brush.

from my experience, spray can paint is almost as good as getting it painted by a pro. my brother ordered a spoiler from ebay and the shop quoted me $350 to paint it. he decided it try it himself first and the materials came out to be under $50. got the paint from www.touchuppaintonline.com, then clearcoat and other stuff from pep boys. only problem is it's now winter and depending on where you are, it might be too cold to do paint work.
