Spoon VS. Turbo

ok, So ive got an inside deal on spoon engines. But i cant deside wether i should go with a B18C spoon or a cybernation stage 2 turbo kit. This may or may not be a daily driver because im have a 1996 gsr also. what is gonna be the better choice?

shoot i dunno man. both sound like very sweet setups. cant lose either way i guess. esp not if you want it to be a daily driver. what are the specs (HP, torque, so on) for your spoon motor?

its got 210 hp to the crank and 11.3:1 compression with i believe an 11k redline however ive been told that the jdm spoon can get around 300 hp to the crank. and i would be going jdm most likely.

Idk man what ever you want to do. Spoon engines are build well. They are pretty much build like a stock honda engine but with Spoon parts. Turbo there is the sweetness factor of having a turbo. It is a very hard decision to make but you are the one that have to live with it after all is said and done.

That is most def. a hard decision. The sweet sound off a turbo is just un reachable. But the fact knowing you got 300 HP all motor, now thats respect.

I'd do both. Do an all motor set up in your 96 GSR and do the non-daily drive with the turbo. If you got the cash of course.

Well considering that Spoon engines are meant for road racing and not daily driven I would have to tell you to go with a Turbo....Spoon engines usually run a high compression and the parts are very expensive....Wheather you get a deal on Spoon engines or not I doubt that anyone here can afford to fix one....Plus if you blow one of those Im pretty sure its gonna be toast since they are built to withstand some serious punishment.

With a turbo you can adjust PSI for either DD or racing...You can also run poo gas..Though I wouldnt recommend it but you can...And I say you can run it since the C/R's are usually lower when building a turbo engine....Its smart to drop compression when building one anyhoe....

But if you are gonna to narrow it simply for a race car then it would really depend on your preference...If you are gonna do Solo I or II I would say go N/A or supercharger since torque is the name of the game in road racing...Oh ya done forget lots of dough dropped on suspension....Suspension is actually the REAL name of the game in road racing....

Drag racing I would say go turbo...Your gonna be in the top end most of the time and a turbos strong point is the top end....Cybernation Stage 2 is a great choice...But again lots of money there too....Suspension is not as much of a must there....Dont get me wrong its still important but you could be cheap and get a really stiff setup...Since it FF your gonna need lots of traction.

:werd: spoon engines are not good for drag racing, they're not designed for it.... so it really all depends on your goals with the car.... also... spoon motors require a mixture of race gas, so plan to drop a grip on gas.
autox = spoon motor
drag = turbo.... it's that easy
