can i power wash my engine bay without worrying about water damaging electrical???

You must be refering to the ebay springs..

Let me run this by you... I have a Mazda RX7 I have about 15K invested into as of right now. By the time it is done I will have over 20K into it. I don't need 2 EXREME money pits..

I know how to build cars the way I want. WHEN I do the engine on this car you will see EXACTLY how I only buy the best parts.. But IMO and IME ebay springs are hit or miss and Honestly I am not going to worry about cheap ass spring on struts that prolly have 177K on them.. Honestly if I was SUPER worried I would have done them right and bought some AGX struts and Tanabe springs or coilovers (real coilovers) but I really don't need another 20K money pit.. 5-6K is ok with me for a summer time DAILY!

I have been in the game and in the business a long time I know my way around car or two. This is not my first honda :)

I think Anthony was just giving his opinion, not dictating how you should modify your DC4. We trust that you have more than sufficient knowledge of tuning experience. Honestly, I have used generic parts before and felt that I would have saved more money and time by stepping it up a notch by getting better quality products. But I do understand that you are on a strict budget with the DC4, due to the fact that it is your daily driver. As a fellow Integra owner, I give you a lot of respect for modifying your DC4 the way that you want and not how other people want. As I always say... It's your money. It's your ride. The choice is up to you.

You said your ok with spending 5-6k on the teg right? Well i have read your build thread and your no where near close on spending that much. With less than 5k you can get proper suspension and lots of other upgrades. I understand you dont want to be in another money hole. But why buy ebay coilovers which will blow your shocks quicker and then HAVE to get new shocks.Unless ofcourse drive with them blown.It has nothing to do with your knowledge on cars because im sure you have plenty of that.

I didn't buy ebay coil over.. I bought ebay lowering springs..
TECHNICALLY you should never put lowering springs on stock struts or even KYB struts for that matter (unless they are adjustable)

The 5-6K will go into a FULL engine build, turbo kit, stand alone, clutch/flywheel combo etc.

Lots of other things that will cost alot more money them suspension.

Why go all out on suspension when all you do with the car is drive in a state that has HORRIBLE roads so that the ride is even worse then it needs to be for a daily that carts the kids around from time to time.

Coil springs are VERY VERY simple. I have installed ebay springs on many cars before (none mine) and those cars have a decent ride and look very good.. Its not rocket science to make a coil spring.. its all in the rate.


Again.. WHEN I actually do the suspension I will either do coilovers or koni/bilsetein/AGX struts with either Tanabe or Skunk2 coil springs.

This is a quick fix to a sagging car that is riding uneven.

I love when people argue with other people about money that isnt theirs, cars that aren't theirs, and problems that aren't theirs...

I like your build Dave, being on a crazy (no job) budget, I believe in budgeting not only your income, but your spendings on your car from part to part!

I dont budget my money :D i keep about $1000 dollars on reserve in case my car blows up or something! and then i spend the rest of my car LOL! advantages of being a teenager!

Eh some people just believe that unless it has a big brand name it has to be junk. Which just is not true now a days.. Things have changed, prices are cheaper because much more people are buying these parts for these cars which brings the prices down..

Look at any CHEVY 350 part.. those performance parts are normally 1/2 the price of any FORD V8 part.. because there are so many on the road.. the more people buy these parts the lower the cost will be due to amount of sales..

Its funny how when I got the car almost everyone on this forum jumped up and down EVERY TIME I posted a pic of my car telling time to SLAM IT.. Every time I told them I wont because my roads are bad and the amount of snow we see is to much to be lowered. HOWEVER the moment I buy springs then the cheek gets turned and all of a sudden now I did the wrong thing because I bought cheap coil springs..

I have a better idea.. to all the haters... keep hating.. but until you pay for my parts keep your lips sealed!

I don't mind opinions and feedback.. otherwise I would have not done this.. but to criticize what I have done with MY CAR AND MY MONEY.. I don't need that.
