This is my hopefully growing build thread. I will edit this thread as things happen and post new pics. I appreciate all the advice, criticisms, and feedback as I try to stay the course of building a decent looking reliable car.

- 6k HID low beams (September 2011)
- Goodyear Eagle GT Tires (September 2011)
- Drag DR-31's in gunmetal (15") (July 2012)
- Tint 35% (July 2012)
- eBay ABS Type-R lip (July 2012)
- eBay clear turn signals (August 2012)

INTERIOR:
- LED interior light conversion (cluster, climate control, map light, dome light, trunk) (July 2012)
- eBay short shifter (July 2012)
- Energy suspension shift stabilizer bushings (July 2012)
- eBay shift boot (August 2012)

ENGINE:
- GSR strut bar (August 2012)
- Otherwise stock!

HISTORY:

Purchased this in July 2011 with 143,xxx miles on it. When I got it the only thing that wasn't stock was the Thermal R&D cat-back. Everything was in good shape except for a couple of broken interior pieces which is replaced with OEM parts right away. The timing belt had already been done so there was very little I had to do to the car.

Nothing wrong with stock and mostly clean!

Now I'm not an old man by any means but the Thermal R&D Cat-back had to go. It droned really bad in the car at highway speed and a little in town too. I daily drive this car so I needed something much quieter. I found someone that was more than willing to trade their stock exhaust. Fortunately I found someone that had done some polish work already so I was pleased with the trade.

The car also got new Goodyear tires, a Viper alarm with tilt & shock sensors, and 6k HID's.

Fast forward to this year and we get to my birthday. I got a bit of money and didn't have anything else to do except throw it at the car! I had done a bit of research and found some cheap'ish things to do that could really help with the look. So with my birthday money and the bit I got for selling my meshies I came up with this:

- Tint (35%)
- Drag DR-31's in gunmetal (15")
- eBay ABS Type-R lip
- LED interior light conversion (cluster, climate control, map light, dome light, trunk) ** Thanks to klutch-db7's how-to on this forum **
- eBay short shifter
- Energy suspension shift stabilizer bushings
- Painted wiper arms (obviously that didn't really cost much money but, whatever! Helped with the makeover)

Coming soon is clear turn signals and a new shift boot. After that I will take a break for a while I think and save some $ for the lowering that this car needs so bad.

Nice progress!! Sounds like you're headed in the right direction :thumbs up keep us updated!
If you want an exhaust that isn't too loud but will still help flow, I'm a big fan of the Yonaka, it really isn't too loud and has an awesome tone. :)

Thanks guys, I will keep that exhaust in mind. I was already looking at headers and stuff today.

My plan is to HOPE stuff starts breaking on the car so I can justify to my wife that I "NEED" to upgrade :)

It just so happened one of my headlight bulbs went out so I had to get HID's... see what I mean?

I really love the yonaka. I have one on my car. It's the perfect exhaust. Quiet while cruising but it screams when you step on it.

This is exactly what I do with my wife!

Well you NEED to upgrade that exhaust. Because it's rusty. Anda B18C because it's hard to merge onto highways safely. And you need to lower it because the stock suspension is worn out. Tell her that they only sell lowering springs, all OEM springs are discontinued.

Welcome! Beautiful DC! Be very careful with that eBay shifter though. We wouldn't want it to break on you while shifting. If you plan to upgrade any parts you have now, that would be the first. :thumbs up

Well I'm not super worried about it because this car is going to see just about 0 racing of any sort. I did save the stock shifter though.

I understand and appreciate your concern though. I do try to be careful what eBay stuff I purchase.

No $28 coilovers for me, lol!

Got to do a couple of things today. Just a couple of cheap ebay parts for visual pleasure.

Decided after some thought to go with clear signals. They were only $20. I know some people love them, some hate them. One of my ambers had a crack in it anyways. I feel like they fit well with the look for my car.

Beware! Blurry cell phone pics in this thread! They make my headlights look super dull even though they aren't :(

All lights on! Camera was acting weird and I guess the inside lighting was messing it up because they look like 8k or 10k and I actually only have 6k :???:

Outside so you can see how horrible the paint difference is on my front bumper. THANKS PREVIOUS OWNER!

And the advertised as suede shift boot! Fit fine, it was $9 with free shipping. The stock one was gross, broken, and sagging, so this is an acceptable replacement.

That's all for now! Hopefully getting a GSR strut bar next week.

That looks good man! Like the way the HIDs set the front off.

What are you plans for her? Other than daily driving
