Even though this happened I will still stand by Playstation I had 2 Xcrap 360's and they both got the RROD screw that I have never had a problem with any Sony game consoles. But screw these damn hackers!!

x2. Its not Sony's fault that some hackers decided to hack into the mainframe. Go after the hackers, not Sony

It is sonys fault for not having adequate security If they steel you identity you do you sue a hacker which you will probably never find or Sony for allowing it to happen?? but i guess you get what u pay for in the long run I guess free online isnt free after all

Supposedly Sony sued a hacker for jailbreaking the ps3 so hackers united to teach them a lesson that they could do what they want with their property. This is the work of many hackers not just one. Id say it wasent that hard for them since ps3 networking is free so there isnt that much security on it.
I agree! I have been following this and being very pissed that I cannot play. Now I gotta go to the range to fire some rounds lol.
But I am glad that I never use my crdit card on the PSN...always go out and just buy the network download cards so this isnt much of a problem.
Also just about everything has been hacked recently (past few weeks) and all types of alerts have been posted about potential theft of information.
Just monitor any unauthorized purchases,etc.

The data was encrypted and I know the hackers are smart but if you don't know the encryption method used, it can take a very long time for them to decipher the data they have obtained. I am a computer programmer and even if I was legally given a block of encrypted data, it can take a long time to figure it out unless provided the layout.

And on the Xbox note... they have almost a 50% fail rate. Not exactly what I would call good equipment. Do you think we'd all be modding integra's if half of them just fell flat on their face from the manufacturer? Nope, we stand by our reliable cars.

I'm not going to be surprised if we have to pay for PSN in the upcoming future.. They've been using 3rd party mainframes, I believe, which is why it's free. They'll probably upgrade to their own systems after all this turns over, imo
