Hey, my names Mitch, obviously.. Im new around here but pretty excited to see all the integra enthusiasts !!
I just recently bought a 92 integra GS, 2dr hatch 18ba1. I am experiencing some starting problems, i've looked around the forum and havnt found much help other then the "main relay" i think. My car has 330,000km but is quite clean considering the use its been through.
30minutes ago I went to start the car and when i turned the key the car didnt turn over. So i jumped it in reverse like a boss then 10min later after shutting her down, Same thing, I tried the key a few times and i noticed when i let the key back it sounded like the car sputtered for a split second. I HELD the key on and after 2 seconds it turned over and started, rpms went to 1.5 then lowered to .2 and fought to keep running but bogged out. When i tried again the car ONLY turned over but never fired up. I have already replaced the starter a few weeks ago, that was fun.. lol ... When the car doesnt start I just give it a minute, flash the key to aux and off, and it'll fire up, i just have to make sure i dont let it die, once i start driving its fine. It idles low, like most it seems around 400/500rpm. AND sometimes, it fires up fine and has no problems.
The car is very clean like i said, for 300,000+ km. it shifts nice and has lots of pull, minimal rust, my tranny case is covered in oil(caked on, i think its probably protecting it lol) some idiot before me busted a bolt on the front of the cover and the seal is torn, hence the oil on the tranny. ive checked the oil regularly and it doesnt leak or burn oil.
Is the ECU under the passanger seat? Or under the glove compartment? I think i found the Main Relay but mine says DATSUN 12V instead of Mitsuba 12V which is what i found researching. Is that my main Relay?
I am Mechanicly inclined but I know nothing, any suggestions would be appreciated, easiest places to start, what things to check. Gotta get this starting problem fixed before winter cause I live around a Lake and NEED transportation story of my life
Thanks for your time !
