Okay so i have an 94 ls. im looking at getting this Skunk2 Alpha Header. Im trying to keep a cat not to be legal just cuz i dont want to be loud. So im really just wondering what the gap from my header to my catback is gonna be. I wouldnt mind run a test pipe only if it wasnt loud and didnt smell like ass. even if i did get a test id still need to know what the gap is. I emailed Skunk2 (no response) . also i found this and im wondering if its true. ive done alot of looking into this so last resort is to make a Thread. " However, since this is a race header it does require your fuel map to be changed via dyno tune. This header tends to bog down with a basemap or a "close enough" tune, so it will bog down on a itr ecu or whatever you are running."This header will not work with AC, maybe the ac mount but not the ac compressor. You need to take out your fans for this thing to fit, the install would not work unless i removed my slim fans. The oem header bracket on the bottom will also not work with this header, Skunk2 provides its own."

I would just save some trouble and buy a header that's designed to hook up to the stock cat.

From what I'm reading the header it has a 2.5" collector. I think that's larger than stock and more of a universal design. Most people would be running a test pipe and a cat-back exhaust. It also specifically states it eliminates the cat.

If you are looking for an easy drop in header I don't think this would be a good one.

you will need to reweld a flange. on the collector side, and put in a 2.5" flange.

hmm, i emailed skunk2 a couple months ago & they advised it will work with ac & all accessories no problem.

thats nuts. i had thought that it hugged the block a little more, hard to believe it'd be a tighter fit than a RMF narrow. mine is so close it was touching on heavy shifts, melted a couple contact spots onto the fan shroud. blown mounts then too, doesnt touch anymore. Ill need to look at some fitment pics.

I was looking into PLM because fuck Junk2, but I read some poor reviews that made me uncomfortable with the quality of their product. I'm stuck buying a Toda or Spoon header, at this stage -___-

mine is very thin & noisy; aside from that cant complain much. can hear the valve train at idle & under load, especially next to a wall. one of the reasons im looking for a little better quality

went & took a look. doesnt look too bad, but the fan is also out. did you have to remove/ move both of them permanently while running that?
