Should I buy a totaled third gen?

My friend's cousin recently totaled her Integra and it is now in impound.
From what I hear the front of the car is completely tweaked a foot or two.
My friend told me that his cousin can't afford to get it out of impound, and that it will just go to the junk yard.

Sooooo here's the deal. If I paid the impound fee's and got it off her, would it be worth it?

The front suspension is more then likely junk, seeing as how the front is tweaked. The transmission is supposedly cracked, as well as the block. I was thinking it might be worth it to go buy a used block and put the internals in it. It has a B18C, with less then 5k on it. If I didn't replace the block, how much could I get for the vTec goodies. Type R pistons and such? (Assuming they are okay.) It also has a 6 puck racing clutch in it that is somewhat new. Also assuming it wasn't damaged.

The car has a full audio system, with a brand new alarm. I figured I would be buying audio and an alarm soon, so it would be beneficial in that right.

Figuring I could part out the whole rear end of the car, interior, whats left of the engine, ECU, blah blah blah..
What do you think would be worth paying for the car to come out on top?

If you can get it out for a decent price then I say go for it man! You could part it out and then turn around a buy a different teg.

How much will the Impound fees be?

If your friends cousin is just going to let you have it then its a plus for you. If thats all you have to pay. Depending on how much the cost will be.

Thats what i'm trying to figure out. I asked him to ask his cousin, but he said "Well I want to give her a few days."
My worry is that it will just get more costly everyday because they charge a storage fee.

What price WOULD be decent?

MrDB1integra, I already have an Integra and I figured I would donate the parts I don't sell to it. Thats where the alarm and audio come into play. I could make the suspension work if it wasn't so effed up in the front. -_-

What price WOULD be decent?
depends on whats sale-able off the car, anything less than what you think you can get out of it, excluding what you want.

Profit = Revenue - Cost :thumbs up

Oh gotcha. yeah the shell is junk. Figured after I stripped it completely I would send it to the scrap yard as is.

The parts you could salvage on the car. The only thing you said was messed up was the front. Im sure if you parted it out you could get a good lump of cash.
