Remove the heat shield. Then get some heat wrap and wrap the exhaust. That's what I did and it works fine.

how well does that wrap hold up to the elements? we get a lot of snow here.

My problem is the guy who started this thread is a moron who puts himself and others in physical danger. We all tried being nice and helpful, he basically spat in our faces. Yes, had that issue initially. It happens because the shift level is rubbing against the exhaust.Have you ever had a rattling problem that you can feel through the shifter?
