I just pulled the engine and automatic tranny on my daughters 2000 Integra with 92000 miles and had the engine rebuilt. The only thing done with the tranny was to remove it from the engine and drain as much fluid out of it as possible. Everything is now back in the car and hooked up. The engine seems to run well but as soon as I turn the key on I get a check engine light and the D4 symbol on the dash starts flashing. My scanner gives me a 753 code, which is shift solenoid A. When I do shift into reverse or D I get a very solid thunk. The car seems to move normally in reverse when I take my foot off the brake but barely moves in D, unless I step on the gas.
I have removed the solenoids and the screens were clean. They both ohm out at 15 ohms. When I apply 12 volts to them they both click.
Before the engine and tranny were removed the tranny worked fine. They were pulled because the #2 cylinder had 40 # compression. Nothing was done to the tranny but remove it and then put it back on the engine and refill with Honda tranny fluid.
I do not have a service manual for this car, and very little experience working on modern cars. Most of my experience is with Model Ts, cars of the 1930s and 1970s.
I would appreciate any help or information you could give me. Thank you.
