Rusted nuts on the cat.

Got my exhaust today. I went to go put it on and the nuts are rusted onto the cat. Are there any ways to get them off. I sprayed them with some lube, but no luck. I want to try something else before taking it to an exhaust shop or something.

I was actually thinking of just going to a shop and have them take the rest off and put the new one on. I read something about using coca-cola?

Haven't heard of that before. just having a shop do it could save you a lot of work and cussing

You can use that to clean battery terminals lol. My grandfather is a retired mechanic and he couldn't find his terminal cleaner one day, so he popped open a can of coke, poured some on the terminals, and finished the can himself then wiped the terminals clean. It may work for rust too.

Use a cutting wheel on a grinder or an air dremil if you have the availability. That's what I had to do shit was terrible. And yes the acid in coke eats right through rust.

I'm going to call midas tomorrow to see if they can pop them pitches out. I'm kinda pressed for time and tomorrow is my only day off and it'll be 3 weeks before i can get the blow torch.

I had the same exact issue and made a thread here about it. They wouldn't come off and I even stripped the but on one. I cut it off with a dremmel. Sprayed liquid wrench. Let it set for like 15 minutes. Then pounded it out with a hammer! I also torched them up a bit to help get them loose.

Mine were really rusty. I hit them with a 3 pound hammer.
