He took the time to call 911 but couldn't muster up the thought to just turn the car off or put it in neutral? Darwinism anyone?

Im not an expert when it comes to these situations, but I would think that is alot of pressure to be under when something like that is happening, and all that mental state goes out the window for some people. It sure does sound so easy talking about it, but imagine when your actually there in the situation...

Well my thought process would go:

"shit the car won't stop"
"how do I stop it"
"turn it off"

What the hell was 911 going to do anyway? Shoot out his tires and have an ambulance ready?

I just like how everyone wants to put blame on something other than themselves, in typical fashion though.

The floor mats have hooks that hold them down in place, he obviously wasn't using them for whatever reason. And why was he flooring it anyway, it's a 272hp car and he has a full load of family driving in the city

**edited for accuracy, I thought it was an IS350, not an ES**

Im not saying that it wasnt his fault, Im just going by what the article said, or read from other. no one really knows what happened, so many different scenarios could have played out here...
