I Love My Toyota.
nice, good to hear! thats kind of how it goes here in saskatchewan but with a few little differences. when a vehicle is in an accident, they asses the damages and if the damages are far beyond repair or depending on the age of the vehicle, they may choose also to write the vehicle off. if not, they will repair it and you pay the deductible on your insurance plan (i assume its the same over there). in any case that the vehicle is declared totaled, you do have the option to purchase it back and fix it. vehicle must be then inspected bla bla ba..... to get back to the point that it is safe for the roads. BUT, if the vehicle is totalled and gets into the accident, insurance will still cover it but will also take in consideration that it was a previous total loss vehicle and you will get a lot less for the vehicle. the awesome thing about insurance here in saskatchewan is that its run by the government. none of this all state, geico....... ect. modify your vehicle as much as you want, you dont have to report any upgrades to motor, suspension ect. if you do have the paper work for the upgrades (wheels, tires, engine rebuild...ect) the insurance will take that into consideration as to what they will pay you out if they write the vehicle off.
