Replace CV Axle or only the boot?

Mine seem to be good, i'll just clean it up and throw a new boot on. Thanks for the information guys.

I also just found my front left inner Boot torn.. going to attempt to replace it this weekend for the first time.

Be sure to replace it. For whatever reason I neglected to replace the boot and my CV axle was eventually ruined lol.

Replace the whole axle do not waste your time with a boot every time I have tried going the cheap route you end up having to change the axle shortly after.... And if you use a Zip tie you WILL fail a safety inspection... I tried to do that when I took my car in for a salvage inspection

Why would you use a zip tie? The boot kit should come with new bands for it. And if you catch the torn boot soon enough- it's worth the ten dollars to replace the boot and repack the grease.

If you know how to re-boot the axle then I would just do that. Almost a no brainer here LOL

its a pain in the ass to replace just the cv boot, if i were you id replace the whole axle
