R.I.P. Boyd Coddington

Boyd Coddington, best known for his tuner and hot rod work, died today at the age of 63. Little is know about the circumstances of his death, but representatives of Coddington's corporation confirmed that Boyd Coddington passed at 6:20am this morning. Coddington had recently been hospitalized for an undisclosed medical condition.

Coddington was born in Rupert, Idaho in 1944 but moved to California in 1966 to pursue his dreams of building hot rods. In 1977, Coddington opened his own hot rod shop — named Hot Rods by Boyd — and established Boyds Wheels Inc. in 1988. In 1997, he was inducted into the Hot Rod Hall of Fame.

As of late, Coddington was best know for his TV show American Hot Rod, which aired on TLC

Damn. I drove my buddy's CTS-V Monday. It has 22" Boyd Coddington's. That is a sick ass car.

But anyway RIP! He built some badass hotrods...........that sucks
