If it's a prebuilt pop the side panel off and post some pics of it and any specs (CPU & GPU mostly) you know, That will help me know what can be done with it, i think you can make a decent upgrade with $600-800, That's close to what I'd need if I wanted to switch my budget rig over to a i7/Sabertooth setup so that should be plenty to work with for what you described.

Well it's not a prebuilt my uncle worked with gateway at the time and hooked us up free . Only upgrade done was a 2 1gb ram upgrades , which now a days is still a bare minimum . Before that upgrade it was a measly 5xx mb ram lol . I just feel a built computer at that ballpark figure I could get twice the power than from a stock laptop/notebook . So I'm on a clean slate here with that budget . What would be somethin remaining in my budget , yet not overkill if you can get me from my previous post ?

i made my rig for about 800 bucks thanks to cheaper prices online and frys does online price matching too.
Awesome good to keep in mind when going in now thanks .

Just post pics of your rig and we can see what can be done
It's only been opened for a ram upgrade , its oem generic . I'm looking to ditch this transfer files to a new setup . Trust me this is very outdated and I'd rather look to build a new computer or quick way of putting it just get a laptop lol hassle free but I'm open to what I could get out 6-800 bucks .

The best thing about building your own computer is the ability to customize it to your needs and budget. Do some research on what kind of things you want out of it and try going to PC part picker .com. That'll be a good start.

Sorry, I was busy yesterday.

That setup doesn't include a disc drive, but they're only like $20

Lemme throw together a build and see what I can come up with, I feel like I can make a better build than that for $800ish.

Also is the SSD something you prefer stays in the build? Because that's a major budget killer for a not so great SSD.

This is a much, Much more solid build and it costs less than the previous one.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9vFnFT

The price is higher because I included a copy of windows 7 but if you already have a windows 7/8 disc/key you don't need it and that will shave $94 off the price tag making the actual PC itself a few cents over $779.

Neither of the builds listed include Keyboard/Mouse/Monitor, This is assuming you already have these, If not there unfortunately is no way around that, You will have to spend more money or get a laptop that will very likely be useless for almost any kind of gaming other than playing stuff like WoW, LoL, Dota etc.

The ssd is like a second storage unit to the hdd correct ? Is this something more recommended then a hdd ? I dont have the key so i will need it for windows 7 . Plus I have a keyboard monitor and mouse for the time being so i can wait until later for a wired or wireless setup . Now given all this to me sounds reasonable , but does this have usb ports on the front ? Also does it have a connection for internet ? Bare with me this is new to me lol .

That case has 2 usb ports in the front but the motherboard has some more in the back.

Motherboard has an ethernet cable port in the back for internet, You can buy wireless adapters pretty cheap.

SSD is not mechanical like a hard drive, SSD loads much faster so stuff like games load faster but there is limited space and the game has to be installed on the ssd, SSD's also slow down over time and don't last as long.

What most people do with SSD's is just put windows on it so it boots up faster but that's usually just a waste of $100-$400 unless you're that impatient.

If you'd like 4 usb ports upfront you could get an nzxt phantom 410, It's $100 though where as the one listed above is about $50.

Would wireless adapter be recommended vs ethernet cable connection ? Or does it just plug into the ethernet port and allows you to locate wireless internet ? I honestly dont mind boot time a computer is a computer and dont care much about games booting quickly . So that's the only perk to having a ssd ? I like the simplicity in the case to be honest and i think two ports in the front is plenty . Just didnt know if it came with it .

Wireless is just more convenient for most people, It's not really faster or anything.

This is what the adapter looks like

Yeah ssd is just basically for load times, Not by any means a required component, Just more of a luxury if you're spending a couple thousand on a super pc or something.

That seems a lot easier for me since I'll be using a cable modem with router that can be used wirelessly . Does that wireless adaptor fit into my setup you helped make ? I see what you mean lets just say down the road would it be easy to setup a ssd for whatever reason be it ?
