I believe so.

I may be missing how it actually works but 55mm on my DX kit lens is more zoomed in than the 50mm, Definitely not as people describe it "Looking like a 75mm" unless the DX 18-55mm kit lens does the same thing on a crop sensor.

Either way this lens is so much better than that noisy 18-55 zoom lens, I don't have any desire to put the stock lens on my camera again. :thumbs up

Yea, I don't ever use my stock lens, the glass sucks compared to the prime lens.

You basically multiply what the lens says by your crop factor. Like my prime lens is a 35mm (or something) but in reality it's a 52 or something. I believe.....

Put your stock lens on and set it to 50 and take a pic. then take the same pic, without moving, with the prime. it should be significantly zoomed in

I'm not a fan of my 35mm prime. I rarely use it actually. I prefer less focal length for most of what I do.

Yeah. I don't know why but after using my sisters 50mm this last weekend, I decided my 35 was obsolete.

My dad found these. I went ahead and picked them up for REAL cheap. I'll have him send more photos when he gets back home. A quick search shows that they go for $300-700 depending on condition. If I can't find a buyer I'll toss them in my 1993 Toyota Tercel, haha.
