Piston Question

I'm looking to put some Civic Type R pistons in my B18A1. My question is will they fit on my stock rods or will I have to do anything special to them?

If I'm not mistaken, they will go on without any alteration to piston or rod. One of my friends here used b16 pistons in his LS engines all the time.. don't ever recall him saying anything about machining to get them to fit.

there is much debate if they will hit the head or not. I think P30 is the limit on the OEM piston and those should slip on fine. if not, you mill the side of the rod 1mm each side. Its either the PR3 or P30 that slip on. But, when i did research on the PCT pistons it was a lot of back and forth on how it fit and what hg you had to run.

incorrect. Most vtec pistons need to have the rod modified.only one b16 piston does not

I thought Civic Type R's had B16Bs in them. Will they not work?

Anybody know if b16b pistons will fit LS rods with no problems?

What pistons will fit other than LS piston that are high comp and require no mods?

So I've done a little digging and P30s should fit with no problem. I will just need a tune (of course)...also I read that this mod could yield 11.0:1+ comp ratio with the right accessories. So I'm thinking that is what I'm going to do.

This is right.
I'm using P30 pistons on my LS rods, and if you use compression calculator on zealautowerks you can find a more accurate ratio.
