Single stage doesn't protect well against uv rays and you don't want to paint over 320 grit sand scratches. You want to at least be in the 600 to 800 grit range when putting your base coat on depending whether you're using waterborne or solvent paint. My advise is get a paint job with a base coat then a clear coat on top ( good clear coat, not cheap stuff).

I know I'm never gonna spend over $1000 for a paint job on a old ass Honda; the minute something happens you're out a shit load of money, and you can't swap paint to another car. These people putting "show" quality paint jobs on tuner cars make me laugh, it's a cheap ass import, not a classic or exotic.
