Yes...but they get annoying when you get " Sir, your car is still on"...Ive gotten that more than once.
I've had someone say that before too. People are dumb
If your water cooled and have the cooling system properly designed there is no need for a timer :p

Even then, so long as you take it easy for the last few miles everything will be fine.

But yea, oil coolers are always good. But you need to get one with a thermo valve in it. As you dont want cold oil right after you started it to be flowing through the cooler. It would take forever to warm up the oil that way.
The turbo on my GSX is water cooled and I use a turbo timer. Mine is also just set for like 20 seconds since the turbo is water-cooled, my radiator is upgraded, and I have a thermostat controlled oil cooler. My main purpose of having it is for summer track days. I set it longer when running laps during 100 degree days and what not.

The turbo on my GST is water-cooled as well and I don't use a turbo timer. Mainly because I don't feel like wasting the money on one and I also don't drive the car hard on a consist basis since it is my daily driver

Definitely go with a thermostat controlled oil cooler. I made my own setup using a Setrab oil cooler, Goodridge braided lines and a Mocal thermostatic sandwich plate
